The 2010 FIRST Robotics Competition Game was Breakaway. This game was Soccer-Themed, and robots were responsible for directing soccer balls into goals, traversing a large bump in the center of the field, suspending themselves and each other on towers, and climbing through a tunnel located in the center of the field. The game lasted two minutes and fifteen seconds, with a 15 second autonomous period and a 2 minute driver-controlled Teleop Period, with a 15 second endgame during which robots may attempt to cling onto the central towers with or without the help of another robot.
Plasma did relatively well this season. At the Arizona Regional, Plasma was ranked 39th, with a record of 9-6-0. However, we were picked for the 1st-Seed Alliance by The Beach Bots (330) and the Hawaiian Kids (359). Our alliance would go on to win the entire regional, qualifying us for the World Championships.
Plasma's success in qualifying for the World Championships helped to legitimize the team in the face of the school and many potential team members, evident by the jump in membership and opportunity after the 2010 season
